I changed the basic directions slightly by adding an extra Tbsp. of butter. This made it easier to work with and much easier to get in and out of the cookie cutters.

Ingredients needed

  • 4 TBLS of unsalted butter
  • 1 bag of large marshmallows
  • Food Coloring
  • Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats
Extra Supplies:
  • Holiday shaped Cookie Cutters
  • Red and white ribbon
  • Clear Treat bags
  • Candy snowman eyeballs
  • Colored frosting

Directions

1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Add food coloring.

2. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.

3. Spray the cookie cutters with a cooking oil spray so they don’t get sticky.

4. Fill them with the mixture, then quickly remove to dry on parchment paper.

Decorating

We kept the decorating really simple and bought store made frosting. I let the kids use the frosting as glue and then placed eyes on the snowman. A scarf would have been cute but we kept these very simple since the kids are still little.

For the stocking, we used red sprinkles.

Finishing touches

After the treats have cooled, we put them inside clear treat bags and tied them with a red and white bow.

We also put †hank you stickers on the front since they were parting gifts at our holiday party.

The green tree trimmings are a very small touch but it made the basket display look cute. It also smells amazing so I used this in all of my decorating. You can snag some at trader joes for a great price.

Happy Holidays!!
