She keeps her students honest by making sure they are in the right posture and not skipping a beat. Jessica is motivating and leaves you feeling strong like you can take on the world when you leave her class!
I highly recommend you try her class if you want a great workout and to feel like you belong there.
5 moves you can do it at home!
These moves are great for strengthening your muscles in between your barre classes or when you cant make it into the studio, however I highly recommend going to a class to ensure the proper form and movement so you don’t get hurt. A good instructor should be able to move your leg ever so slightly and you’ll get a totally different workout. So again make sure you get into the studio for a class and then practice these inbetween 🙂
- Single leg extensions holding the back of your chair. Start by doing x25 on each leg. Do 3 sets
2. Put your heels together and toes out into a plie while pressing up onto your toes. Do this 30 times, take a break and then do two more rounds
3. Inside outside leg sweeps holding the back of a chair
4. Plie position squats and bicep curls. start by doing x20, rest and then 2 more sets.
5. Sit in a straddle position in the floor and walk your arms out for a deep stretch. Set a timer for a 3 minute hold and breath. You’ll need to do 3 sets of 3 minutes to make progress you can see and feel.
Why I love The Method
I have been taking barre classes on and off for about 10 years! I don’t love high intensity workouts and don’t love dripping in sweat either, so it’s important I find a workout I actually enjoy but still get results!
For me barre class is an amazing workout. The classes are challenging and never boring. It’s fun to work out here because you are always encouraged to improve your form and work harder. I also love that everyone knows my name and takes a personal interest in me.
